Denise Gryczuk

  • Denise has worked at IUP since 1987 and in the History Department since 2006. She brings a wealth of experience to the department, having worked for many years at the Admissions Transfer Services office, with some time spent in International Studies, Career Services, Vocational Personnel, Scheduling, and other offices during her more than 25 years of service at the university. Having been a part-time, nontraditional student for many years, she empathizes with the department’s students and understands their concerns and academic needs.

Denise has studied Communications Media and has an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies from IUP. Throughout her time at IUP, Denise has served as the Red Cross Club advisor and volunteers at the university radio station, WIUP-FM. During her studies, she participated in a study-abroad trip to Costa Rica and encourages students to incorporate study abroad into their studies.

Denise finds that the best part of her job is helping students find ways to make the most of their IUP education, whether it is by student activities, volunteering, studying abroad, or just connecting them with the right faculty member based on their specific interests.
