The Endnote: Submissions

    • Each submission must be a valid piece of research writing related to the history field, with all references footnoted in proper Chicago/Turabian style.
    • An electronic copy of the manuscript should be submitted to the editor-in-chief via e-mail attachment to iuphistoryjournal@hotmail.com, with a subject denoting the submission.
    • Paper copies will be accepted to accommodate all levels of technological expertise, but all other submission guidelines must be followed, and contact will still take place via e-mail correspondence.
    • Manuscript submission should be one of two formats: traditional research work, or opinion/editorial pieces supported by citations.
    • Manuscripts should be formatted in Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, or a RichText format to facilitate straightforward review and editorial suggestions.
    • Manuscripts (including endnotes) should be prepared in double-spaced typescript, in accordance with Chicago/Turabian formatting.
    • The manuscript should be no longer than 5,000 words for undergraduate students and no longer than 7,500 words for graduate students.
    • For more detailed formatting guidelines, see The Journal of American History.
    • Because the submissions will be reviewed anonymously, names should appear on the title page only, but standard numbering of pages should be retained.
    • There must be an e-mail address for contact submitted with the manuscript as well.
    • Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Please consult IUP’s policy on plagiarism if you have any questions or concerns.
    • E-mail all submissions to iuphistoryjournal@hotmail.com.
