Sexual violence is a serious issue that affects all of us.  At IUP, we have a strong commitment to address this widespread problem.  Take Back the Night is an annual event designed to raise awareness and support survivors of sexual violence.  Visit the Haven Project's table for more information about this event and win some prizes.

Haven Project hosts Take Back The Night Table

Stapleton Library

The Haven Project will host a Take Back The Night table in the Stapleton Library on Monday, February 27th, 2017 beginning at 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Each April, the Haven Projects sponsors Take Back the Night, a march to raise awareness about sexual violence and show support for victims and survivors.   This is our biggest event, and has proven to draw crowds in the range of 1,500 and 3,000 people, bringing together a diverse group of participants including faculty, staff, community members, student athletes, fraternities, sororities, ROTC, and many other students and student organizations.   It is a very powerful event in which the campus as a whole comes together to stand in support against sexual violence and for its victims/survivors.  A “Speak Out” for the victims/survivors of sexual violence follows the march.  Leading up to the event, The Haven Project will have several information tables, and well as t-shirt making workshops for the Clothesline Project, which is displayed at the march. Come to our tabling event to find out more about the event, workshops coming up or to find out how you can volunteer.
