Graduate assistantships at IUP are selectively awarded to highly qualified graduate students.
If you are applying to a graduate program and you are interested in a graduate assistantship, there is a required field on the application for admission to indicate your interest. If you are a current graduate student and you are interested in a graduate assistantship, please contact your program coordinator.
Full-time graduate students are enrolled in at least 9 credits during the Fall semester and 9 credits during the Spring semester.
Some programs also award one-semester (Fall or Spring) Graduate Assistantships to full time students that require either 10 or 20 hours of assigned duties per week for that semester.
To be eligible for an assistantship as a part-time student, students must enroll for 6 credits in the Fall term and 6 credits in the Spring term.
Stipends for assistantships may change from year to year. Contact the School of Graduate Studies and Research (724-357-4511 or email@example.com) for current stipend levels.
International Students: Assistantships cannot be used to indicate financial support on IUP’s Foreign Student Financial Statement Form.
Students awarded a graduate assistantship will receive an agreement via mail for review and signature.
View next steps if you signed and returned your agreement.
