Beyond the Playing Field

For those with a desire to work in the world of sports, the IUP Master of Science in Sport Science prepares you for the numerous opportunities you can pursue in the sports profession. The program specifies these career goals with its unique three track program in Sport Science. The tracks include Sport Management, Exercise Science, and Sport Studies. Each track prepares you for a variety of competitive employment opportunities, including management of sport and athletic programs, corporate and community health and fitness facilities, teaching roles, hospital and medical-based exercise programs, sport franchises, community recreational settings, and more.


Sport Management

The sport management track prepares you for the business and management aspect of the sport industry. Employment in this field ranges far and wide, such as college and athletic departments, community recreation organizations, minor and major league sport franchises, commercial sport facilities, and golf courses. Exercise Science

The MS in Exercise Science track does not only focus on the health and well-being of athletes, but of people everywhere. Strength and conditioning, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physician’s assistant are just some of the careers you can partake in at several levels, including high school and college. Sport Studies

An MS in Sport Studies allows you to use your academic knowledge in sports. It trains you to design a curriculum that combines courses from multiple departments to create an academic emphasis. Students interested in coaching and engaging in the sport psychology field would benefit from this track greatly. Learn more.
