A naming ceremony for Gealy W. Wallwork Hall was held December 4, 2009, in the building’s multipurpose room.
Located along Pratt Drive on the north side of Grant Street, the building opened for occupancy in August 2009 as part of Phase III of the Residential Revival. It was temporarily known as the Sutton Suites, because its design was intended to reflect that of IUP’s main administrative building, John Sutton Hall.
Gealy Wallwork, of Kittanning, has served as a member of the Council of Trustees since 1991 and chairs the Administration and Finance Committee. He is the 2006 recipient of the President’s Medal of Distinction.
Wallwork is a retired president and chief executive officer of the Arthur T. Walker Estate Corporation. His career spanned forty-four years in operation and management positions in the mining business, from mine level through corporate headquarters.
