Construction on the fourth and final phase of the Residential Revival, the $270-million project to replace student housing, was formally under way after a groundbreaking ceremony July 7, 2009.
This phase involves demolition of the Governors Quad residence halls, which began in late June 2009, and construction of the Crimson Suites, a 596-bed facility along Maple Street, between Pratt Drive and Eleventh Street. The building will open in Fall 2010.
The Residential Revival, a joint project of IUP and the Foundation for IUP, is replacing fourteen residence halls with buildings that incorporate a “living-learning” philosophy into their design.
