Visiting Writer Tawni O’Dell, 2001

Friday March 30, 2001

Best-selling author Tawni O’Dell came to Visit IUP during the statewide english conference held at our campus. She gave a speech, noting the over 300 rejection slips she had received in an effort to stress that one should never give up on her endeavors. Tawni also read to the audience from her novel Back Roads, which was one of Oprah Winfrey’s picks for inclusion into her book club. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the reading, as well as O’Dell's wonderful sense of humor. She signed books for many fans after she finished speaking.
