Glisan Co-Edits Special Issue of “Foreign Language Annals” on National Research Priorities in Foreign Language Teaching

Professor Eileen Glisan co-edited a special issue of Foreign Language Annals, published in May 2012, that presents reviews of the research in areas designated as national research priorities based on the pivotal role they are likely to play in advancing the knowledge base and classroom practices in foreign language teaching.

“¿Qué Tal Indiana?” (“What’s Up Indiana?”), IUP’s First Bilingual TV Show, Is Co-Produced by Rodríguez and Leidman

Professor Lydia Rodríguez, Department of Foreign Languages, and Professor Mary Beth Leidman, Department of Communications Media, are executive producers of a new talk show on WIUP-TV that aims to engage, inform, educate, and entertain the campus and surrounding community.

IIUP Chinese Language Student Wins Eastern U.S. Chinese Proficiency Competition

Jazminn Jones, a student in a Chinese 202 class at IUP, won third place in the Senior Level Group at the third annual Eastern U.S. Chinese Proficiency Competition, held April 7, 2012, and was interviewed by Voice of America.

Delbrugge Publishes Chapter on Converso Element in Medieval and Golden Age Spain

Laura Delbrugge of the IUP Department of Foreign Languages has published a book chapter, “Pragmatism, Patience, and the Passion: The Converso Element in the Summa de paciencia (1493) and the Thesoro de la passion (1494)." The chapter was published as part of the volume Conversos of Medieval Iberia in March 2012
