Music Department to Receive Pipe Organ from American Guild of Organists

The Department of Music will add a notable instrument this spring to its already vast keyboard collection. In May 2014, the department will make way amid its 93 Steinway pianos for the Pogorzelski-Yankee Memorial Organ, valued at $400,000.

Get Your Costume On for “Addams Family”

The delightfully creepy Broadway musical national touring production of “The Addams Family” arrives in Fisher Auditorium of the IUP Performing Arts Center on October 24, 2013. The first 50 audience members arriving in costume for the show will receive a bag filled with a few Halloween treats.

IUP Dean, Faculty Members, Alumni Brewing Up a Tempest in Pittsburgh!

Fine Arts Dean Michael Hood, faculty members, and alumni helped mount Unseam’d Shakespeare’s The Tempest, or the Enchanted Isle, playing in Pittsburgh’s Studio Theatre at the Cathedral of Learning through June 29, 2013.

McGinnis and Derry Receive Sprout Seed Award

Department of Art faculty members Chris McGinnis and Sean Derry were recently award funding from the Sprout Fund. The Seed Award will partially fund their visual and performing arts initiative entitled Alloy Pittsburgh.
