Music Theater: “Die Fledermaus (The Bat)”

An all-time popular champagne-fueled operetta by the King of Waltz, Johann Strauss. This fully-staged co-production by IUP Music Theater and Theater-by-the-Grove will feature IUP faculty, students, and special guest artists.

Exhibit: “kyoob”

The simplicity of the cube allows for countless interpretations in material, process, surface, and scale. The /kyoob/ exhibit seeks to present a diversity of approaches to this geometric form.

Exhibit: “Passage: Hatsubon”

Kipp Gallery, Sprowls Hall

Tomiko Jones’ loose narratives unfold in sculptural video installations and questionably fictional photographs. Linked to the identity of place in social, cultural, and geographical terms, her work explores transitions in the landscape with particular attention to public lands.

This exhibit runs from November 3 to December 8. Free admission.

IUP's vocal jazz ensembles Hawkapella, Crimson Chords, and Jazz Vox will take the stage to present a variety of acapella jazz compositions. The concert's second half will feature the IUP Jazz Band, performing music from the big band repertoire, both old and new.

Join the children's choir of the IUP Community Music School, the Crimson Youth Choir, for a Fall Christmas Concert. The performance will feature a variety of familiar selections, as well as some that are less familiar. In addition, the IUP a capella ensemble Crimson Chords will join the Crimson Youth Choir for part of the concert.

Concert: IUP Choirs Home for the Holidays

Join the IUP Department of Music for our second annual Home for the Holidays concert. This performance will feature all of the IUP Choral ensembles and special guests including the IUP Voices of Joy Gospel choir, the 5th grade choir from Horace Mann Elementary School, IUP Community Music School Children's Choir, and Purchase Line High School Applause. This festive program will capture the spirit of the holiday season.

Concert: Indiana Community Choir Concert

DiCicco Hall, Cogswell Hall, Room 121

Join the Indiana Community Choir for their annual Fall Christmas Concert. The performance will feature the very popular Vivaldi Gloria, and Rejoice in the Lamb by Benjamin Britten, a work written in 1943 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the St. Matthews church in Northampton. Both utilize organ accompaniment, performed on the Pogorzelski-Yankee Memorial Organ, by guest organist Bryan Lohr.
