With state-of-the-art facilities, the College of Fine Arts hosts a talented faculty and staff dedicated to expanding the minds and skills of students. We offer a balance of high professional standards and rigorous, current educational practice, and an emphasis—on stage, in the studio, and in class—on a culturally and ethnically diverse world of art. That’s what students can expect from the College of Fine Arts at IUP.

The newest addition to the College of Fine Arts is the IUP Performing Arts Center, which was created by joining the existing Fisher Auditorium and Waller Hall with a 20,000-square-foot addition. Its opening on September 18, 2008, marked a milestone for the College of Fine Arts and IUP, providing significantly enhanced facilities for performances in a grand and proud structure. If you would like to be a permanent part of this accomplishment, we invite you to learn more about the Take Your Seat campaign.
Action Needed: Save the Arts in Pennsylvania!
Your immediate action is required to save arts funding in Pennsylvania. The state senate has targeted the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts for elimination by passing Senate Bill 850. The House version, House Bill 1416, continues funding for the PCA at $14 million (slight decrease from the current allocation) and will come up for a vote very soon. If the House bill passes as is, that will mean the two sides will need to come to a compromise regarding state arts funding.
If you do not speak out now, the Indiana County area could lose over $150,000 in state funding, which would include the elimination of ArtsPath and various activities through The Lively Arts. Other programs offered by the likes of the Indiana Arts Council, Partners in the Arts, Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance, area museums, regional professional artists, and other organizations will also be severely and negatively affected.
