Information on obtaining a federal job, including world-wide job vacancies, is updated daily from a database of more than 17,000 job opportunities.  The positions available are mostly public service jobs.  There is no charge to apply for jobs on-line and you can sign up to have job postings sent to you by e-mail.  The site also includes a résumé builder, instructions for first-time users, hot jobs, student jobs, and information regarding homeland readiness and security.  

Job Star
This site contains state and worldwide job search guides.  It offers a variety of information related to salary, the hidden job market, hot jobs, training and education required for certain jobs, tips on how to write a résumés, career guides, and free online tests.

True Careers
This site allows you to search for jobs by category or location, to find information on salaries and jobs, to plan for your career, and to post your résumé online. It also suggests helpful books, offers information regarding career transitions, and provides a place to post jobs.  This site also contains a diversity job center.  New features include start-a-business and complete a self-assessment.

Employment 911
This site allows you to post résumés and to search for jobs from the Employment 911 database.  You can also search 100 of the top rated job sites on the internet.  Combined these two search methods give you access to information on over 3,000,000 jobs.  The job gallery allows you to search for jobs in a specific area.  The site also offers tips on career-related issues and provides relocation tools.

America's Job Bank
This excellent site allows you to search a job databank with one million job postings, post résumés on line, and set up an automated job search.  First, select a job title from 22 job categories that are then broken into specific occupations.  Then, select a zip code and choose the range of miles from the originating zip code to search for jobs. The results will show the job title, location, salary, and education and experience needed. It will tell you how many jobs are available daily and how many new résumés have been received. This site also allows you to search for jobs by state and to search for military positions.

Career Builder
This site provides easy steps to locate a job (search by field, interests, or location), allows you to search for temporary, part-time, or full-time work, and offers advice on a variety of issues. There is an area where you can post and send résumés and sign up to receive information about jobs via e-mail.  The job seeker toolkit is helpful along with information regarding online career fairs.  IQ testing and sections for students, graduates, and those interested in technology are available. This site also provides information on how to survive a layoff.
