Fall 2009 Student Teachers Professional Day Meeting

Ohio Room of the Hub

he Mandatory Professional Day Meeting for Fall 2009 student teachers will be held on December 1, 2009, at 8:00 am in the Ohio Room of the HUB. At this meeting you will receive information about the Pennsylvania certification process; adding on certifications, applying for certification outside the state; and applying and interviewing with prospective employers. Additionally, the staff from the Registrar’s Office will be at the Professional Day meeting. This will be an opportunity to check your degree information and to make sure that any minors and/or concentrations are represented on your transcript. You will also be able to purchase your cap and gown at the Co-op Store on that day. Act 36 letters will be distributed at the end of this important meeting. These are the letters which verify your degree completion and pending certification to school districts. These letters are the required document for day to day substitute teaching following your graduation. Some departments have additional activities planned for their students on this day as well. We advise you to contact your department about any departmental activities that are planned for that day. We look forward to seeing you and talking with you about your student teaching experience!

Spring 2010 Student Teacher Meeting

Beard Auditorium in Stouffer Hall

There will be a MANDATORY meeting of all Spring 2010 student teachers on Thursday, December 3, 2009 in Beard Auditorium in Stouffer Hall. The meeting will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. This is a critical session for learning about all requirements, expectations, and policies related to student teaching. Confirmed placements will be distributed at the end of the meeting. Bring note taking materials to the meeting. This meeting is for ALL majors from any teacher education program who are planning to student teach in Spring 2010.

TB Test Injection for Teacher Education Majors

University Health Services

TB Test for Teacher Education Majors. Tests are given at University Health Services located at 901 Maple Street, Suites on Maple East. Free to any student who has paid "Health Fee A" during the hours posted. Any student wishing to receive the test at another time will need to sign in at the health center as a walk-in and will be charged $25. Students with "Health Fee B" are also eligible to participate in the clinic for a free of $15.
