Welcome to the College of Education and Educational Technology (COE-ET) at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Our college provides leading-edge development and growth opportunities for students and professionals in the education and allied fields, as well as in the growing field of communications media.

The programs in the college lead our students to certifications and bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. We are proud that our programs are recognized in the region, state, and nation for their quality. We are fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. The diversity of our certification, undergraduate, and graduate programs is vast. We prepare teachers, instructional technologists, adult educators, counselors, educational leaders, and professionals in student affairs, speech-language pathology and audiology, and communications media.

COE-ET students are engaged in and out of the classroom through partnerships with professional development schools, community agencies, and business/industry. These partnerships offer students opportunities to develop in their area of study through scholarship, internships, field experiences, and studying abroad. Our students launch their careers in many settings, including schools, higher education and research institutions, museums, production companies, corporate environments, health care clinics, and government agencies.

We are a welcoming community of teacher-scholars. Our faculty members are recognized as leaders in their fields. They value excellence in teaching and learning, demonstrating this through modeling best practices and conducting research to inform and improve their teaching. We have established centers in Applied Media and Simulation Games, Media Production and Research, Science Discovery and Outdoor Learning, Child Studies, Rural Gifted Education, Counselor Training and Research, and Learning Enhancement, as well as the Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic. These centers provide authentic learning experiences for our students and opportunities to collaborate with faculty on important and groundbreaking research.

Prospective students, parents, and alumni, I invite you to explore our site. You’ll find information about our programs, our award-winning faculty and students, and our specialized areas of focus.
