Minor in Economics

Expand Your Resume with a Minor in Economics

A minor in Economics will help you branch out after graduation, opening up opportunities your major alone might not give you. Here are just a few majors that work well with this minor:

  • Mathematics
  • International Business
  • Journalism

To complete a minor in Economics, a student must complete 18 credits in Economics, including Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON 121) and Principles of Microeconomics (ECON 122). The other 12 credits may be met by completing any other classes with an ECON prefix, except ECON 101 and ECON 143. The Department of Economics will substitute MATH 214/216/217 in place of ECON 355. A student must maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA in Economics.

To ensure proper credit, students should complete a minor application online or in the Department of Economics office.
