Yaya Sissoko’s article “Current Account Sustainability of ECOWAS Countries,” co-authored with Niloufer Sohrabji, has been accepted for publication in the African Finance Journal.

Yaya Sissoko, Department of Economics, presented “Should Sub-Saharan Africa Oil Exporter Countries Borrow More in U.S. Dollar or Euro to Stabilize Their Balance of Payments: An Empirical Investigation” and published “The Sources of Real Exchange Rate Fluctuations in Sub-Saharan Africa.”

Drs. James J. Jozefowicz and Stephanie M. Brewer Jozefowicz, Department of Economics, presented “Ten Years of Learning by Doing: The Benefits of Undergraduate Research for IUP Economics Students.”

Dr. Yaya Sissoko, Department of Economics, presented two research papers, "Role of Monetary Policy in Economic Instability" and “Wagner’s Law Revisited: An Econometric Analysis,” co-authored with IUP alumnus Dr. Mete Feridun, at the thirty-third Northeast Association of Business, Economics, and Technology (NABET) Annual Conference.

Stephanie Brewer Jozefowicz, James Jozefowicz, and Yaya Sissoko attended the annual fall meeting of the Pennsylvania Economic Association board of directors in State College, Pa., on October 23, 2010.
