Business Services

The Management Services Group, located in the Eberly College of Business, utilizes the expertise of IUP faculty, staff, and students, who work in collaboration with area business executives, owners, managers, and entrepreneurs to help evaluate and achieve business objectives through sound planning and management. The Management Services Group has assisted hundreds of profit and nonprofit organizations by providing expertise in areas such as marketing, financial analysis, business planning, information technology, training, and government contracting. Individual consulting services are available for new business start-ups and entrepreneurers. The group also provides ongoing workshops to new and existing business.

Workforce Education/Training

Workforce Training

The IUP Business Development and Training Services department in the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology serves as a resource to business and industry to help employers create training plans and access training services. Depending upon the availability, eligible employers may be able to apply for grant funding for reimbursement of certain training costs.

Specialty Training Programs

IUP provides corporate and business training resources to businesses and other organizations throughout western Pennsylvania. Programs of study include credit and noncredit certificate programs, regional training programs, and on-site educational programs. IUP colleges, along with Centers and Institutes, are well positioned to offer customized training programs to educate, train, and develop workforces of all sizes.

Centers and Institutes

Centers and Institutes at IUP make up a vibrant and dynamic community of teachers, scholars, and practitioners who apply their expertise to a wide range of areas, both at the university and in the surrounding community. With over forty-five units, Centers and Institutes provide a framework for faculty, staff, and students to work together from across the university on areas of mutual concern and interest.

From the artistic to the scientific, Centers and Institutes are creatively involved in a wide range of externally funded projects and in community service initiatives. They also offer a multitude of opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students to work in applied settings, complementing the learning that takes place inside the traditional classroom.

Career Development Center

The Career Development Center (CDC) provides services and developmental opportunities that support the educational objectives of IUP. The CDC functions as a comprehensive career planning and placement service within the university by providing career coaching, support, and consulting to students, alumni, and faculty. The CDC can also assist with accessing data on current trends in the job market and strategies for career development in any field of interest.

Conferencing

IUP can help your business or organization plan its next meeting or seminar. The professional staff of the Office of Conference Services can assist with event planning and implementation. Year-round conferences include group sizes from six to 4,500 on the IUP campus or at a location of your choice.

Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex — Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex is a 150,000-square foot, multi-use facility located on approximately 6.55 acres of land adjacent to the university. It offers a conference center that provides a combination of dedicated and shared technologically-advanced spaces with multi-uses for education and training, based on the needs of a shifting economy, from heavy industry to high technology and services. While owned and managed by IUP, Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex serves as a resource for the entire regional community.
