Indiana University of Pennsylvania serves an important role in Pennsylvania’s economic growth through contribution to the local economy. IUP is Indiana County’s largest employer, providing jobs to more than 2,000 people who live and contribute to the county’s economic base of schools, businesses, retail establishments, lodging, and entertainment activities. IUP contributes in excess of $300 million per year to the local economy generated not only by university spending, but also by visitors to campus for conferences and cultural and sporting events.

IUP’s history is rich in accomplishment with an even more exciting future in economic development initiatives. IUP will continue to go “Beyond Expectations” in fostering partnerships to create and sustain growth for Indiana County and the surrounding region.
