Distance Education Programs

Student Studying Online

Is a rigid work schedule keeping you from taking college courses? Does your busy home life slow down only after 10:00 p.m.? Is a lack of transportation getting in the way of continuing your education?

If so, IUP’s Distance Education program may be an option for you.

Through Distance Education, IUP offers on-line undergraduate- and graduate-level courses that can be accessed by computer at any time of day or night. As active participants in the learning process, students communicate on line with professors, classmates, and advisors. And because distance courses maintain the same high standards as those conducted in the classroom, academic success requires self-discipline and the ability to learn without face-to-face interaction.

While adult, part-time students are the primary users of this program—others who may benefit include those still deciding whether to pursue a college degree and those wishing to transfer their coursework to another institution. Courses are also available on a limited basis to traditional, full-time students.
