Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice

The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice offers students seeking careers in Criminology a broad liberal arts education that encourages them to think critically about crime and justice issues and also prepares them for careers in the criminal justice system.

The degree offered is the Bachelor of Arts with a major in Criminology and the Bachelor of Arts with a major in Criminology Pre-Law. Additionally, students may minor in Criminology. Through the School of Graduate Studies and Research, the department also offers graduate work at both the master’s and doctoral levels.

Criminology Student Organizations
The Criminology Department sponsors several student organizations: Alpha Phi Sigma, the Criminology Association, the Criminology Graduate Student Organization and the IUP Chapter of the Pennsylvania Prison Society.
Criminology Advising Center
The Criminology Advising Center is the first line of advisement for our undergraduate population. We provide information on various topics, including scheduling, liberal studies, and graduation requirements. We also distribute scheduling materials and other important forms.
