The Communications Office offers the following services.
- Advertising
- The advertising coordinator acts as the official purchasing agent for advertising of all types. Individual departments and offices are not authorized to engage in advertising contracts.
- Graphic Identity Standards
- The graphic identity standards for establish a consistent framework for presenting the university’s visual identity in printed publications, advertisements, websites, and other media.
- Media Relations
- The Office of Media Relations is responsible for all internal and external media placements and media relations for the local, regional, and national community.
- Photography
- Because photos are in high demand for the web, publications, advertising, and media relations, the university photographer is not available for assignments by the university community.
- Publications
- The Publications component of the Communications area produces most publications distributed to off-campus audiences.
- Resources
- Templates for designing PowerPoint slides, plus templates for brochures, factsheets, and posters
- University Editor
- All brochures meant for consumption by off-campus audiences must receive editorial approval.
- Video Services/AV
- Because video productions are highly specialized and require long-term planning, video services are not available to the campus community upon request.
- Web Team
- The content management system’s workflow process serves as the delivery vehicle for a great deal of the web team’s work.
Note: At present, university budgets are not assessed for the Communications area’s services, and members of the university community who access these services need only plan to incur expenses for necessary overtime for university employees, printing, and special photography, illustration, or writing services not performed by university staff members.
