PHOTO PORTFOLIO ENHANCED WITH EUROPEAN STUDY ABROADJuli Whetstone, Class of 2015, Communications Media, was able to study abroad in England, Austria, and Italy, learning about European music and media. “Before studying abroad, I took a photography class in the Communications Media Department,” Whetstone said. “I learned important photography skills that allowed me to take beautiful pictures in Europe.”

Take the Path You Want: Choose Most of Your Major Courses

This major offers flexibility, making it possible for you to select most of your major courses. Among the classes you can take are Broadcast Newswriting, Communications Graphics, Television Production, Beginning Photography, Radio Production, Process of Digital Game Development, Animation, and Advanced Video Production. An internship is required.

Add a Minor without Adding Semesters

With the electives built into this major, you’ll have the opportunity to take a minor or a collection of courses outside Communications Media that will make you more competitive in the job market. You might want to consider a minor in journalism, art, psychology, music, or business administration.
