Department of Communications Media

communications_media.jpg

The Department of Communications Media prepares students to work in all fields of media: on line, radio, television, cable television, public relations, advertising media, media relations, and corporate media relations.

Our award-winning faculty are active practitioners in their fields both on and off campus.

Our students learn to design, produce, and evaluate media messages in state-of-the-art facilities, including the Applied Media and Simulation Games Center, an audio recording studio, a graphics and multimedia lab, an FM radio station, and a cable television station. Then they hone their skills in real-life situations though our internship program.

Degree programs offered by the department include a bachelor’s degree in Communications Media, minors in Communications Media and in Educational Technology, and a doctorate in Communications Media and Instructional Technology. In cooperation with the Department of Adult and Community Education, we also offer a master’s degree in Adult Education and Communications Technology.
