Parking

On Commencement Day, May 10, 2014, all campus parking lots, with the exception of those listed below, are open to everyone on a first-come, first-served basis.

The new Humanities building will be beautiful when it’s completed. For now, however, the areas next to the Library and Clark Hall are pretty much mud surrounded by a lot of fence.

But fear not—everything else is open as normal! Parking for Commencement will be free as always, with the exception of these closed areas:

  • Grant Street next to Sutton and Clark halls
  • Eleventh Street between Clark and Sprowls halls

We recommend that you park in the campus parking garage. Reserve spaces in the garage are open to visitors on the weekends. The campus walkway to Fisher Auditorium is accessible from the third level of the parking garage.

Parking is also available in the Washington Street lot, including 17 handicapped spots, and in the Stright Hall parking lot.

Police officers will be positioned to assist with parking and answer your parking questions.

Two parking areas for reserved parking only:

  • A portion of Miller Stadium parking lot is reserved for parking by persons with disabilities.
  • The Kovalchick VIP parking area, directly in front of the building and the loading dock area, is reserved for members of the Commencement platform party.

Note: Metered parking spaces on campus streets are owned by the Borough of Indiana. If you park in one of these spaces, you should feed the meter.
