December Commencement for Graduate Students

  • Commencement Ceremony: Saturday, December 17

    • 9:30 a.m., Fisher Auditorium
    • Graduating students must report to Fisher by 8:30 a.m.

    Graduating Students: RSVP Required for Commencement

    • Sign into MyIUP using your IUP network account.
    • Click the “Home” link.
    • In the “Graduation Preparation” section, click “RSVP for commencement ceremony.” (You’ll see this option only if you’ve applied for the current semester graduation.)

    Salute to Grads: Tuesday, November 1

    • 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Co-op Store
    • Purchase your cap and gown, order graduation announcements, and more.

  • The Commencement ceremony for December master’s, doctoral, and MFA students will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. in Fisher Auditorium.

    • Graduating students must report to the IUP Performing Arts Center by 8:30 a.m.
      • Doctoral and MFA students should report to Dressing Room A.
      • Master’s degree students should report to the Large Rehearsal Hall.

    Individuals will be on site to direct graduates to these line-up locations.

    Tickets are not needed for this event.

    Immediately after the ceremony, President Michael Driscoll will host a reception honoring all graduates, families, and guests in the Blue Room, Sutton Hall.

    A professional photographer will be on hand to distribute information about purchasing photographs.

    Degree and Diploma Information

    If you have questions about whether or not you have met all degree requirements, please contact your graduate advisor immediately. Degrees are awarded by the School of Graduate Studies and Research, and diplomas will be mailed four to six weeks after grades are posted.

    Graduation Regalia

    Caps, gowns, and announcements will be available at the Salute to Grads event on November 1, 2016, at the Co-op Store or during regular business hours at the Co-op.

    Guests With Special Needs

    There is predesignated special needs seating in Fisher Auditorium, and seating passes are not necessary. Special needs parking passes are available by contacting the School of Graduate Studies and Research, located in Room 101 of Stright Hall, or by calling (724) 357-4511 no later than Monday, November 28, 2016. We cannot guarantee that requests made after that date can be accommodated.
