Programs of Study

The following programs are available through the Department of Chemistry:

B.S. Chemistry/Pre-Medical Track
The Pre-Medical concentration includes all courses required for entrance into medical school.  
B.S. or Minor in Biochemistry
A B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in Biochemistry are also available through the Biochemistry Program, a cooperative program of the Biology and Chemistry departments.
BA in Chemistry
The curriculum leading to the BA in Chemistry is designed to allow for the workable union of nonscience areas with chemistry in such a way as to retain the fundamental science and mathematics requirements needed for a career in chemistry.
BS in Chemistry
The BS in Chemistry is a professional degree, certified by the American Chemical Society.
BSEd in Chemistry
The BSEd degree with a Chemistry major is designed to prepare the student to teach chemistry at the secondary school level.  
Minor in Chemistry
Twenty study hours are required for a minor in Chemistry.
P.S.M. in Chemistry
The Professional Science Master’s degree requires an original thesis. Students enrolled on a full-time basis typically complete the program in two years.
