Team-Based Undergraduate Research on Stem Cells

Research Sheds Light on Toxin in Seeds Eaten by McCandless

A recent study, following up research by alumna Wendy Gruber under the direction of Jonathan Southard, Chemistry Department, confirms and quantifies the presence of a toxic amino acid in the seeds that likely contributed to the death of Chris McCandless in the backcountry of Alaska. McCandless is the subject of the book Into the Wild.

LeBlond Develops Chemical Equation Editor/Filter for Moodle 2.7+
