How do I find information about Chemistry internships and other related summer opportunities?
Currently, you can subscribe to a departmental e-mail list (contact Dr. McElroy at nathan.mcelroy@iup.edu). When new information arrives in the department, you’ll be notified immediately! For more information, visit the Research and Job Opportunities webpage where all of that information will be shared and archived.
If interested in the procedures for internship for credit, the department’s internship coordinator is Dr. Villemain: jvillema@iup.edu.
Is tutoring available for Chemistry classes?
Yes! The students of the American Chemical Society club hold tutoring for undergraduate courses in Chemistry (e.g., SCI-106, CHEM-101/102, CHEM-111/112, CHEM-113/114, CHEM-231/232, etc.) during the semester in Weyandt 128. Tutoring hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m.
For larger service courses, such as CHEM-101/102, there are also special help services called Supplemental Instruction available in Pratt Hall.
