The Department of Chemistry serves the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by providing a high-quality education for our students, delivered by a caring, nurturing faculty that is committed to the pursuit of excellence through IUP’s Teacher-Scholar Model.
The Chemistry Department maintains undergraduate and graduate professional degree programs in which the curriculum meets the highest standards. The Bachelor of Science degree is certified by the American Chemical Society. The department also offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry, a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education–Chemistry, and a Professional Science Master’s degree in Chemistry.
