An Illustrative Lesson

James W. Ummer, Esq. will give an interesting presentation that compares the succession plans of Joe Robbie, president and owner of the Miami Dolphins, and Art Modell, president and owner of the Baltimore Ravens.

Using this illustration, Jim will explain why one family had to sell the team just to meet their tax obligation while the other used a myriad of individual and trust vehicles to ensure his heirs could keep the business and prosper. A panel discussion will follow.
