About Civic Engagement and Student Leadership

The Center for Civic Engagement and Student Leadership believes that volunteering your time to help people in need is a vital part of your education here at IUP.  Through community service, students are not only helping others, but they are also gaining valuable knowledge and skills to understand (and perhaps solve) some of the many social, economic, and health-related ills which exist in the world today.

So being active and involved in campus affairs and the local community and beyond will make you a better student and, ultimately, a better citizen.

Please look around this website for information on how to get involved with local human service and nonprofit agencies in the area. And please contact the CCESL director, Dr. Caleb Finegan, should you have any questions, concerns, or ideas about how to make our campus, our community, and our world a better place.

See our calendar of events for more ideas and upcoming events.
