Center for Career and Technical Personnel Preparation

The Center for Career and Technical Personnel Preparation at IUP offers a comprehensive, regional educational program to prepare, update, and upgrade career and technical teachers, administrators, and other support personnel.

Programs of study may lead to either a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education degree with certification or to professional certification only.  Graduates have a broad range of employment opportunities as teachers/trainers in secondary schools, career and technical schools, postsecondary schools, and business and industry.

Individuals may pursue certification through one of three Professional Personnel Development Centers in Pennsylvania.  The Centers, located at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania State University, and Temple University receive funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Education to serve students in their geographic area.  IUP’s service area is Western Pennsylvania.
