Services - Career Development

In addition to organizing several career fairs, employer information sessions, on-campus interviews with recruiters, and career workshops, the Career Development Center offers a number of other services to IUP students.

We offer hour-long career advising sessions; offer access to on-line resources for jobs, graduate schools, and internships; conduct mock interviews; and provide service in the following areas: student employment, service learning, kids read, volunteering, university testing services, and national student exchange.

Delta Epsilon Iota: Delta Epsilon Iota was established for the purpose of identifying and encouraging academic scholars whose dedication, enthusiasm, and initiative distinguish them as models of achievement, leadership, and service.

Disney College Program®: The Disney College Program® is an opportunity offered to all students to experience working for the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida, or the Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, California.
Instant Messaging: The IUP Career Development Center offers instant messaging to enable direct communication for general questions regarding services and scheduling appointments.
Internships: The Career Development Center acts as a clearinghouse for internship oppurtunities.
Mock Interviews: The Career Development Center provides practice employment interviews in a simulated office environment for a small fee.
National Student Exchange: Program for undergraduate exchange within the United States and Canada
Occupational Outlook Handbook: The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information that provides job search tips, information specific to occupation, and links to information about the job market in each state.
Planning for Graduate School: Guides to planning for graduate school and guides for choosing a graduate school.

Podcasts: The Career Development Center offers podcasts that discuss various career skills that include cover letter writing, resume development, professional attire tips, job fair tips, and information on how to use vault.com.
Service Learning: The Career Development Center promotes professional and personal development through experiential learning.
Sponsorships: The Corporate Partnership Program provides an organization connection with IUP students and a closer working relationship with the Career Development Center.
Student Employment Center: The Student Employment Center serves as a liaison between students and employers by providing a service that enables both students and employers to fulfill their employment needs.
Undecided Major: Guidance for undecided majors and individuals who want to explore various opportunities within their chosen career.

University Testing: University Testing Services is responsible for administering standardized testing at IUP.
Workshops: The Career Development Center offers a variety of career oriented workshops that may be valuable to your curriculum or student organization.
