Temptation of the Muses will be performed on Thursday, April 25, at 8:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium. Reserved Seating ticket prices are $23 Regular, $18 Discount and $12 with an I-Card. "Lysistrata" will be performed on the Waller Hall Mainstage from April 25-28 and May 1-4. General Admission seating ticket prices are $14 Regular, $12 Discount, and $8 with an I-Card.

Art Lecture: Vicky Clark

Presented by the Graduate Art Association, this event is free and open to the public. Dr. Vicky Clark is the Art Gallery Director and art historian at Clarion University, and has been a curator, writer and teacher for more than 30 years. Most of her more than 50 group and one-artist exhibitions are concept-based and idea-oriented. She is the author of two books about major exhibitions in Pittsburgh, and is working on a third book regarding Pittsburgh artist Robert Qualters.

Students Begin to View Mid-Term Grades, 8:00 a.m.

To help undergraduate students monitor their academic performance, faculty members will provide a warning to students with unsatisfactory performance at midterm. Each semester, the Registrar will establish and announce the dates for the window within which midterm grades may be posted by faculty members and read by students and advisors. Faculty members will assign a midterm grade of "D" (danger or potential failure) of "F" (failure) by using the Univerity Records and Systems Assistant (URSA) at www.iup.edu/ursa. The midterm grade is an advisory grade and is not a permanent part of a student's academic history. It is not used to determine enrollment status, dismissal, or eligibllity for financial aid, housing, or athletics.

Workshop: "Christopher Beckman: Still Clean"

Presented by the IUP Counseling Center, this is the first of several free activities scheduled during Chris Beckman's visit to campus April 1-4. Catapulted into the national spotlight when he was only 24, artist and former Ralph Lauren model Christopher Beckman's substance abuse and homosexuality were tabloid fodder during his stint on MTV's "Real World Chicago." Sober for 12 years now, Beckman will lead a workshop candidly discussing his struggles with addiction, his recovery, and how he deals with the "real world" today. This workshop will be of great benefit to anyone wanting to better understand addictions and coulseling those in recovery and is open to the public.

Workshop: "Christopher Beckman: Life Informing Art"

Stouffer Hall, Beard Auditorium

Throughout his years of chemical dependency, his time in the spotlight as a cast member of MTV's "Real World Chicago," his work as a Ford Agency model, his speaking engagements across the country, his life as an openly gay man, and the last 12 years in sobriety, a unique personal history has always and continues to inform Christopher Beckman's work as an artist. In this free workshop, open to everyone regardless of their art background, Beckman will take you on a visual journey through his photography, painting, and sculpture that illustrate his life and gives visual reference to many of the points raised in his recent book. There will be ample time for questions and answers, with an informal reception to follow.

Community Artists Critique with Christopher Beckman

Artists Hand Gallery, Philadelphia Street, Indiana

Hosted by the Indiana Art Association, all artists, art lovers, and the entire community are invited to this free open critique. This event is part of the multiple day visit by special guest Christopher Beckman (April 1-4). Several Indiana Arts Association members will bring their own work for Chris to openly critique to all attending. He will discuss their work, how it may relate to his own, and the message the artists are working to convey. Refreshments will be served and there will be some time to ask questions about the art and about his life.
