2:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m. | 109 Uhler Hall IUP’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) provides oversight for research with human participants. The Board is introducing new, simplified forms and instructions as well as an educational series this spring to provide a forum for investigators and their advisors to learn about and/or discuss standards and practices associated with human subjects research.
Each one-hour session will begin with a brief (10-15 minute) presentation pertaining to the topic of the day, followed by discussion of the topic and/or any other topic of interest to attendees. All sessions will be held in 109 Uhler.

03/27/13: Basics of informed consent
04/10/13: Vulnerable Populations
The program is open to everyone, but seating is limited. Please RSVP by email to irb-research@iup.edu. Drop-ins will be accommodated only if seating permits. |

2:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m. | HUB Susquehanna Room Funding is available to graduate students through a variety of sources, both within IUP and externally. This workshop will provide a demonstration of Internet databases through which IUP students can research funding resources. All graduate students are invited to attend. |
3:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m. | HUB Susquehanna The Thesis/Dissertation workshop will cover the APA and MLA style guides and how to format your thesis or dissertation according to the most recent IUP Thesis-Dissertation Manual. IUP formatting and steps for submitting your final copy to start the graduation process will also be reviewed, as well as an overview of iThenticate software that checks for plagiarism. Graduate students who plan to write a thesis or dissertation and faculty advisors are encouraged to attend! |
