The ambassador will discuss the historical process through which his nation was born and will outline a way to the future. It provides students with an opportunity to increase their interactions, involvement, and learning about and with people of diverse backgrounds. Students can earn points, a Diversity Certificate, and raffle tickets that will give them a chance to winning prizes. All participants will be invited to attend the Award's Program on May 2, 2013.
Completion of Diversity Verification Forms are required, and must be submitted to the AACC Office. For further information, a calendar of activities, a Diversity Verification Form, or recommend an event you have planned for consideration in the program, please contact the AACC at 724-357-2455. |

| AACC, B23 Delaney Hall The AHCANA Essay Contest provides students with an opportunity to win a $250 Gift Card by submitting a 2-3 page, typed essay that reflects on the theme: Imagining Racial/Ethnic Diversity 2050: Implications, Thoughts, and Recommendations Concerning the Predicted New Majority Population Composition (Africans/African Americans, Hispanics, Caucasians, Asians, and Native Americans). Guidelines are available for to assist with writing the essay. The contest runs April 26, 2013 and are due at the AACC Office by 4 p.m. on that day in B23 Delaney Hall. Early submissions are suggested; no late essays will be accepted. For further information, call 724-357-2455. |

It is a Diversity Counts Program and is sponsored by IUP African American Cultural Center in conjunction with Victory Christian Assembly, the President's Commission on the Status of Women, and the Men of Maat Student Organization President's Council with support from the Center for Health and Well-being. 5:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. | TBA Under this year's theme, Diversity Counts: Today's Priority, Tomorrow's Reality, this celebratory program recognizes graduating graduate and undergraduate students from the class of Spring and August 2013. The guest speaker will be Brenda Frazier. Several special recognition and outstanding student and faculty awards are presented as well as a DVD being made in honor of the graduates. Students who would like to be included in the DVD Project, must provide a candied shot, electronically, to IUP AACC, c/o of c.a. palek@iup.edu by March 26, 2013. There is no charge to participate in this pre-commencement activity; donations are welcomed. On day of event, participating students must arrive by 3:30 p.m. at the HUB Ohio Room. Informational meetings will be held on March 26 and April 24, 2013. Rehearsals will be on May 9 and May 16, 2013. Any student who plans to participate in the program should contact the AACC as soon as possible at 724-357-2455 to let them know. Walk-ins are however welcomed.
