The information listed in this section is taken from the Troop 11 Handbook and Policy Manual. The on-line information has been grouped in topic order for ease of use. The order of the information is different in the printed version.

This manual has been prepared to inform scouts and their parents/guardians about the policies and operations of the troop. Although we have attempted to be complete in the preparation of this manual, surely something of importance has been missed or overlooked. If, after reviewing the manual, you have any questions, please ask!

The Troop Committee reserves the right to occasionally add or delete provisions or policies found in this manual. The Troop Committee is defined in the manual; but, simply put, it is a committee made up of all parents/guardians of all the registered scouts in the troop. All parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend. This is your opportunity to be involved in creating and amending policies, procedures, and operation of the troop. Decisions are made by the simple majority of those members in attendance at a scheduled meeting.

The Troop Committee meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Nossen Conference Room in the RobertShaw Building, down the hall from and during the regularly scheduled troop meeting. The exception is when the troop is at Summer Camp in July. The committee meeting for that month is held on Family Night in the camp site following a pot-luck dinner.

The leaders of Troop 11 hope that all parents will make the effort to attend committee meetings regularly. Statistically, those scouts whose parents participate in the function of the troop and troop activities are more likely to remain in Scouting and benefit from the Scouting program.
