Managed by the College of Fine Arts at IUP, ArtsPath is an arts-in-education program in partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and is one of twelve throughout the state funded by the PCA. ArtsPath includes a region comprising Armstrong, Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson counties as well as the majority of Butler County. The work includes identifying professionally active visual, performing, media, and literary artists.
Through schools and community groups, the partnership works to place these artists, as well as directory artists across the state, in schools for extended, in-depth residency activities. Residencies may also occur in community centers, senior citizen centers, health care facilities, businesses, and anywhere else where art is used as an educational tool, crossing the boundaries of all disciplines. Further work of the partnership includes arts-in-education advocacy both regionally and statewide, providing artists and teachers personal educational opportunities, community outreach, and the like.
