About the Applied Research Lab

The Applied Research Lab (ARL) is a student-run service in the School of Graduate Studies and Research (SGSR), offering basic statistical advice and consulting on Qualtrics and SPSS. The ARL also helps graduate students with some of the more complex features of Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro for theses and dissertations.

The ARL employs graduate lab assistants who are happy to help IUP students, faculty, and staff. To request a consultation, please e-mail All requests must come from your IUP e-mail account.

In the event a question arises that is beyond the expertise of the graduate lab assistants, the IUP Center for Statistics Education in Pennsylvania has agreed to accept authorized referrals from the ARL.
