Storytelling and Liars Contest to be Held at Northern Appalachian Folk Festival

The first Storytelling and Liars Contest will be held at the 2015 Northern Appalachian Folk Festival on September 12 in downtown Indiana. Storytelling is enormously popular in many folk festivals throughout the United States, including the recent Three Rivers Story Telling Festival in Pittsburgh.

Kostas Skordas, director of the Division of Regional Planning and Research of the Appalachian Regional Commission in Washington, D.C. will provide an overview of the report “Economic Progress and Challenges in the Appalachian Region Since 1965” on September 12.

Rusted Root and Coastal Remedy Headlining at the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival, Sept. 11–12

The third annual Northern Appalachian Folk Festival will be held in downtown Indiana in September with headlining acts that include Rusted Root and Coastal Remedy, plus more live music, workshops, visual art, food vendors, children’s activities, storytelling, dance, and a car show.

Seeds Club President McCormick Featured as Regional Newsmaker
