Victor Garcia is a cultural anthropologist and associate director of Cultural and Ethnic Studies at the Mid-Atlantic Research and Training Institute (MARTI) on campus.
His specialty is Latino and Latin American studies, and his research interests include economic anthropology, especially in peasant societies, and the political economy of agriculture and farm work in the United States. He has done fieldwork in peasant villages in Mexico, in rural communities in California and Michigan, and most recently in Mexican migrant and immigrant communities in southeastern Pennsylvania.
He teaches courses on ethnographic research, Latin America, and issues facing Latinos in the United States.
