The Master of Arts in Adult and Community Education can be obtained through our traditional degree (Adult and Community Education: ACE) or our newest program (Adult Education and Communication Technology: AECT).
Established in the mid-1970s, ACE is the oldest graduate program in adult education in Pennsylvania! Keeping up with the times, the ACE program moved online in 2011. The AECT program, established in 1995, combines studies in adult education and training with the latest in educational and communications technology. The AECT program is only offered in residence on the IUP main campus in Indiana, Pa. Both master’s degree programs offer individualized attention, flexible scheduling, small classes, and, of course, an excellent faculty.
The department offers academic preparation for careers in adult education, community education, and technology-intensive education and training programs through its two graduate tracks:
The department also offers an Instructional Technology Specialist Certification.
