Indiana University of Pennsylvania proudly offers qualified students from outside of Pennsylvania a reduced tuition rate!

The purpose of the reduction is both to reward non-Pennsylvania students for their academic accomplishments and also help to make IUP’s cost more affordable.

    Who Qualifies?

    • New students who live in Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia automatically qualify for the reduced tuition rate based on their residency in these states.
    • New students from other states who have earned a cumulative B average at the time of graduation will also qualify for the discount. New students must meet the academic requirements for the tuition differential at the time of initial matriculation in order to receive the discount.
      • For first-time freshmen, this means that you have earned a minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 grade-point average scale or an 85 percent on a percentage scale. The Office of Admissions will determine eligibility for these and other grading scales as necessary.
      • Transfer students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 from any and all institutions they have attended before enrolling at IUP.
    • The tuition differential policy is not retroactive. Currently enrolled students cannot qualify for the reduction if they did not meet qualifications upon initial enrollment at IUP. If a student enrolled at IUP before the policy was put in place, the student does not qualify for the tuition reduction for past, current, or future terms.
