Mine MappingMotivated undergraduate students at IUP can get a head start on their graduate education by applying for early admission to many of IUP’s graduate programs.

Qualifying students can earn a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in five years, saving time and money.

How Early Admission Works

This individualized program is for highly motivated and successful IUP undergraduates who wish to continue their studies in a graduate program at IUP. You must have at least a 3.25 GPA to be considered for early admission and must have completed at least 15 credit hours in your undergraduate major. You may apply in the semester in which you will earn your 90th credit (typically, the spring of your junior year).

You will need to meet the existing criteria the graduate program to which you apply, with the single exception that you need not have finished your undergraduate degree. After acceptance to the graduate program, you may earn up to 15 credits of graduate study while still an undergraduate. When you complete your undergraduate degree, you will automatically become a graduate student if you maintain a 3.0 undergraduate GPA, are in good academic standing as a graduate student, and fulfill any undergraduate requirements specified by the department and listed in the admissions letter.
