If you’re ready to transfer to IUP now or are considering a transfer in the next year or two, there are several factors you’ll want to consider.

Loading...

If you’re transferring from a community college, IUP has arrangements with many in the area to make the transfer easy.

If you’re transferring from another four-year institution, a first step might be exploring IUP’s On-line Transfer Equivalency Audit System to see how your coursework fits into requirements for your major at IUP.

Either way, when you’ve made your decision to transfer to IUP, the first step is to apply. In addition to the application, which you can submit on line, we need the following:

  • Your final, official high school transcript
  • Transcripts from all colleges, universities, and/or other schools you have attended
  • $50 application fee
  • Cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale from all post-secondary institutions attended

In addition, our admissions decision considers other evidence of student performance and the ability to be a successful college student. If you have attended more than one school, we will calculate a combined cumulative GPA from all schools. Students who apply before completing their first semester may have a decision made based on high school information, if possible, pending receipt of their final college transcript at the completion of the semester.

Special Admissions Requirements

Students who plan to major in Dietetics, Education, Fine Arts, Nursing, Spanish, or Speech Language Pathology and Audiology have additional admission requirements beyond the university minimum.

Articulation Agreements

IUP has arrangements with various community colleges to help that facilitate the transfer process.
