We don't like defining our program or our students by numbers, but numbers are part of how higher education measures success. Here are a few of those necessary evils:

Our typical student...

  • Is in the top 10 percent of his/her class
  • Has evidence of desiring academic challenges (e.g. has taken AP, CP, IB, or Honors classes and the like)
  • Has a 3.8 unweighted GPA
  • Has a combined SAT score for Math and Critical Reading of 1250 or an ACT score of 28
  • Also applied to private liberal arts colleges
  • Is interested in multiple majors and hasn't yet decided on one

While those are the averages, we have students with SATs in the 1100s, and students who have perfect 1600s. Some of our students involved themselves in every high school activity, but we also have students here who were unhappy in high school and didn't do much there other than graduate. Our application process looks at the whole person who emerges from all the pieces of the application, not just test scores and transcripts.
