Most Enhancing Experience: My archaeology field school experience in Wales, paid for by the HC enhancement fund, was a huge boost for me as a college freshman to get serious about anthropology. It gave me the confidence to pursue research, which led to an internship at the Smithsonian and then to graduate school.
About My Majors: My majors at IUP gave me a fundamental grounding in critical areas of biology and anthropology. As an academic researcher, I still use what I learned at IUP every day.
HC Impact: The support by the HC for experiences within the HCwithin IUP, but also outside IUPwas phenomenal. Also, my time spent in the HC core curriculum was among the most broadly and intellectually stimulating experiences of my life. The perspective I learned in HC core still shapes how I ask questions about the world in both my professional and personal life.
