Culinary Costs

  • A Culinary Education of True Value

    At IUP, we are committed to ensuring our students a world-class university education at an affordable cost.

    The following costs are for the 2015–2016 year:

    Instructional Costs*

    • $7,848 per semester
    • No Charge for externship semester
  • Fees

    • Activity Fee: $405 per semester
    • Technology Fee: $218 per semester (Pennsylvania residents); $332 per semester (Non-Pennsylvania resident)
    • Supply Package, Culinary Arts: $1,500, one-time charge for first-year students (This fee covers knife kit, uniforms and shoes, and textbooks.)
    • Supply Package, Baking and Pastry Arts: $500, one-time charge for second-year baking students (This fee covers baking uniforms, baking supplies, and textbooks.)
    • Transportation Fee: $46 per semester
    • No Chargefor Parking; students may elect to bring a car to campus.

    *Costs listed are for Culinary and/or Baking semesters. Once these semesters are completed, students opting to continue on for the B.S. degree will pay undergraduate tuition and fees found on the Bursar's website.

    On-Campus Housing

    Space is available for sixty first-year culinary students. We offer suite-style living with the following options:

    IUP Punxsutawney Living Center

    • Two bedroom, four beds, two bathrooms, $3,389 per semester, fall and spring; $2,553 summer
    • Four bedroom, four beds, two bathrooms, $4,260 per semester, fall and spring; $3,220 summer

    Fairman Living Center

    • One bedroom, two beds, one bathroom, $3,381 fall and spring; $2,480 summer (Commons Fee: $115 fall and spring; $99 summer)

    Off-Campus Housing

    • Many rental options are available, including single rooms, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and more

    Meal Plans*

    • Nineteen meals a week + $300 flex dollars: $1,665 per semester (19F+)
    • Nineteen meals a week +$200 flex dollars: $1,565 per semester (19F)
    • Fourteen meals a week +$300 flex dollars: $1,590 per semester (14F)
    • Fourteen meals a week: $1,290 per semester (14)
    • Ten meals a week +$300 flex dollars: $1,536 per semester (10F)
