    Culinary students with Chef McIsaacSubmit the Culinary Application if you intend to study Culinary Arts, Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts, or if you wish to combine Culinary Arts with the BS degree programs in Hospitality Management, Nutrition, or Family and Consumer Sciences Education.

    Here’s What You Need to Do:

    1. Application: Apply electronically or submit a paper application.
    2. $25 application fee. Submit your fee during the online application process. If using the paper application, the fee can be paid in the IUP Marketplace by selecting Culinary Admissions Application Fee or by mailing a check or money order payable to IUP, to IUP Culinary Admissions, 1012 Winslow St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
    3. Do you have an application fee-waiver form from your school counselor?
      1. If applying online, when you reach the payment section, in the Promo Code field, enter the type of fee-waiver form that you have: SAT, ACT or NAC (for NACAC). Be sure to submit the form to us
      2. If you are mailing a paper application, include a copy of your fee-waiver form or e-mail it to us at culinary-arts@iup.edu.
    4. High school transcript or GED scores. We are able to accept unofficial copies for review of your admissions application. We require an official copy of your final transcript prior to starting classes.
    5. Postsecondary transcripts are required if you have completed one semester or more of any postsecondary program (program following high school). We are able to accept unofficial copies for review of your admissions application. We require an official copy of your final transcript prior to starting classes.
    6. Submit all culinary admissions materials to IUP Culinary Admissions, 1012 Winslow Street, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

    Optional:

    • SAT/ACT scores (These will qualify you for some IUP scholarships.)
    • Personal essay (Essay prompt: Tell us more about yourself and your goals.)
    • Recommendations
    • Note: If you decide to submit an essay and/or recommendations, the review committee will take them into consideration when we make scholarship awards and admissions decisions.

    Your admission decision to Culinary Arts will be made within two weeks after we receive all of the required application pieces and any additional documentation requested. (An essay, recommendation, and/or entrance exam may be required if we need more information to make an admissions decision.)
